We were pleased to receive a $25,000 donation from Waikato Federated Farmers Charitable Trust to help assist with the completion of the infrastructure upgrade.

We were pleased to receive a $35,000 donation from New Zealand Community Trust to assist with the electrical work involved in the infrastructure upgrade. A representative from NZCT presented the cheque to trustees at the 2011 Annual Charity Golf Tournament held during May.

Hospital trustee, Peter Thissen (pictured), spent a year and a half planning, designing and helping to install the new hot water system. The hot water upgrade included installation of solar panels which have the potential to shave $12,000 off the hospital's annual electricity bill. Completion of the hot water system upgrade means the hospital's hot water has now been future proofed for projected growth. Most importantly, the upgraded system provides a much safer environment for both the hospital patients and staff as there will be a continuous flow of hot water at regulated temperatures. Other financial support for the project has been provided by The Pohlen Foundation Trust through grants received from The Lion Foundation and The Waikato Federated Farmers Charitable Trust.
