                Outdoor Exercise and Rehabilitation Equipment

The Foundation and the Pohlen Hospital Board worked closely with Health Professionals within our community to research, fine tune, and have custom made equipment that suits the needs of our wider community.

This outdoor exercise equipment is situated between the Hospital and maternity entrances. It is free to use and available to any adult in our community who is rehabilitating or simply wants to follow a gentle exercise regime. There is a coordinator on site at specific times during the week.

                Theatre Conversion

This was a large project and involved the conversion of the under utilised, original theatre into a much needed four bed short stay ward. Potential patients were continually being turned away because we simply did not have enough beds to cater for our community’s needs. This completed ward greatly alleviates this pressure.

                Pressure Mattresses
We have an ongoing replacement project of pressure mattresses. These mattresses are vital for patients who can not move themselves. The mattresses assist with skin integrity on pressure points; thus avoiding ulcers.
